MAMAS & MUFFINS: NEW MOTHERS GROUP

MAMAS & MUFFINS is a free mothers group open to all new mamas and their pre-crawling babies. Drop in anytime from 9 to 10am, have a muffin and some tea, and enjoy chatting with other new moms. From 10am to 11, there will be time for women to share their experiences, ask questions & get support.

Christina Kennedy, independent childbirth educator and mother of two, hosts the group as a place for women to share the joys & challenges of new motherhood. Sometimes Christina or a guest speaker will present information on a specific topic, like carseat safety or sleep issues. Upcoming topics include babywearing demonstrations with a Moby Wrap, a fleece pouch, and a ring sling; a discussion about introducing baby food and how to make your own baby food simply and inexpensively; and guest speakers on play and parent engagement from The Painted Horse and Parents as Teachers.

Join us on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month, from 9-11am, at Winthrop United Methodist Church (58 Main Street in Winthrop), upstairs in the nursery. While the church graciously hosts the space for this group, we are not affiliated with the church in any way. Use the side Wonder Awhile Nursery School entrance. Signs will be posted.

March 15th*: Sleep Tips for Baby
April 5th*: Guest speaker Diane Vinal, from the Parents as Teachers program
